FIVE-STAR Jake Walker helped to make sure Cefn were the first leaders in this season's Tillwise Summer League.

Walker netted five times as Cefn opened their campaign with an 8-0 triumph versus 2019 champions Llangynhafal.

The Denbigh Town striker opened his account midway through the first half with a brilliant free kick from 25 yards and the visitors were two-up at the break.

Llangynhafal weren't there just to make up the numbers and they had an early goal chalked off.

Cefn took control with six goals after the break to mark a successful opening night.

Henllan are hot on their heels following their 6-2 success at Ysceifiog.

Tomos Clwyd Edwards bagged two of the goals for Chris Brown's side, with Sam Jones, Nedw Clwyd, David Lawson-Cooke and Mathew Jones also on target.

The two Dans - Robinson and Jones - struck for Ysceifiog.

Llandyrnog recovered from a 2-1 deficit to defeat hosts Llanfair 4-2.

Two goals from Josh Jones, on a penalty, helped Jimmy McNally's side to success.

Harry Roberts and Craig Jones grabbed the others, with Jason Alexander and Elgan Lightfoot on the scoresheet for Huw Price's hosts.

Rhewl are up and running with their 1-0 victory at Caerwys.

A Llyr Davies strike sealed the deal.

Trefnant made their point on their Summer League return via a 3-3 outcome at home to Nantglyn.

Dave Hudson, Julian Watson and Matty Griffiths netted for Jared Jones' charges, with Leon Gierke (2) and Geraint Jones scoring for Nantglyn.

It was also honours even as Llanrhaeadr headed to Clawddnewydd.

The result was 2-2, with Tirion Griffiths and Deian Williams scoring for Clawdd, while Tomos Hywel and Llyr Morris found the target in the second half for Llanrhaeadr.
