A FINE bowling display helped to make sure Denbigh began their new season in winning fashion

The North Wales Cricket League Division One campaign opened with a visit to Abergele, who were bowled out for 95 in the 36th over.

Spearheading the Denbigh attack was Joe Lewis, who finished with a 4-13 return from his 8.1 overs.

On his return to the team, Harrison Jones grabbed 3-21 in nine overs, while also in decent form were Andy Clarke (2-25) and Stuart Griffiths (1-20).

An undefeated knock of 39 from Archie Sussex then guided Denbigh to a winning 97 for five in reply.

Gerallt Lyall (12), Harrison Jones (10), Andy Thomas (13) and Stuart Griffiths (10) had decent starts as Denbigh claimed the majority of the points in a 13-2 split.
