DENBIGH now have a 16-point lead at the top of Division One of the North Wales League after stretching their winning start to the season.

It's now four wins from four matches for the Ystrad Road outfit, who eased to a comfortable success in their home clash with Marchwiel and Wrexham.

The eventual margin was a healthy 180 runs and the star of the show from Denbigh's perspective once again was Harrison Jones.

A week after he hit a double century at Dolgellau, Jones was impressive once again with a knock of 109 as Denbigh set 246 for five from their 45 overs.

Archie Sussex (63) was also in impressive form with his maiden half-century for the team, with Gerallt Lyall (30), Sam Lewis (11) and Tom Schrimshaw (10 not out) also in decent shape.

Scott Lawrenson (2-54) was the pick of the Marchwiel and Wrexham attack.

Although Nick Husbands hit 22 at the top of the order, the visitors' response never really got going.

They would find themselves being bowled out for 66 in the 30th over.

Opening bowler Alec Lewis (3-28) saw Denbigh on top from the off, with Joe Lewis (2-9), Sam Lewis (2-0) and Harrison Jones (2-7) turning the screw later in the innings as the hosts secured maximum points.
