BOSS Guy Handscombe doesn't need to worry about his squad ahead of a key encounter this weekend.

Things are set up nicely as Cymru North are on their travels this Sunday for the second leg of their meeting with a Cymru South XI.

A tight and tense first meeting between the teams yesterday at Denbigh Town's Central Park ground finished up 0-0.

Handscombe, the former Corwen manager, initially feared that a fixture clash would mean players from Buckley Town and Ruthin Town wouldn't be available for next week's game.

However, the North East Wales FA Challenge Cup final will now take place on Friday evening instead of Sunday.

This means Buckley's Cameron Darling, plus Ruthin's Matty Hill and Jamie Cumming, will be available for the trip to Llansawel's Old Road Welfare Ground on Sunday.

And what a prize is at stake for the victors, who will go forward to represent Wales in the UEFA Regions Cup.

Cymru North, captained by Colwyn Bay's Sam Downey, contained Holywell duo Jake Cooke and Dylan Allshorn in the starting line-up, with Ruthin trio Jamie Cumming, Osian Davies and Matt Hill all starting.

Davies was forced off through injury after half-an-hour, while Cymru South had the ball in the net through Kris Evans, but this was chalked off for offside.

Towards the end of the half, North keeper Rob Dascalu made a good save to tip Josh Jones' volley over the top.

Llanuwchllyn keeper Dascalu saved well from Jones early in the second half, while at the other end, a free kick from Cumming forced Morgan Davies into a save.

On 89 minutes, Cumming had an opportunity that he fired just over the bar.

That was the final chance and it's still all to play for the the second leg coming up.

Cymru North: Rob Dascalu, Jake Cooke, Dylan Allshorn, Jordan Carrington, Khyam Wyton (Gari Owen), Chris Cathrall, Jamie Cumming, Sam Downey (captain) (Cai Roberts), Osian Davies (Callum Parry), Liam Morris, Matt Hill
