ANOTHER weekend... and another comprehensive victory.

North Wales Cricket League Division One leaders Denbigh are going to take some stopping this season.

They maintained their position clear at the head of the standings courtesy of a thumping 145-run success at Llanrwst.

In a rarity, Denbigh found themselves being bowled out while batting first.

There were no centuries on this occasion, but a number of important efforts were able to make sure that the Ystrad Road side reached 206.

Openers Harrison Jones (35) and Gerallt Lyall (18) got things off to a solid start for the title chasers, before the likes of Sam Lewis (18), Joe Lewis (25), Andy Thomas (19), Narmer El-Lamie (15) and Ifan Jones (17) pushed the score along.

Nick Bould (3-19) was the pick of the Llanrwst attack.

Llanrwst's reply did get off to a solid start on the back of the efforts of openers Iwan Edwards (23) and Aled Hughes (14).

However, these were the only players to reach double figures as the ball was mightier than the bat.

Harrison Jones completed a fine all-round showing with fantastic figures of 5-6 from his six overs as the hosts were bowled out for 61.

Also among the wickets were Alec Lewis (3-20) and Joe Lewis (2-6) as Denbigh grabbed maximum points.
