THERE was no Division Two joy for Ruthin from their home encounter with Mold Seconds.

Looking to kickstart their campaign, Ruthin made first use of the batting track on a warm day.

Things didn't go to plan, though, with skipper Jamie Hughes (10) the only batsman into double figures as Ruthin were bundled out for only 45 in the 22nd over.

Daniel Williams (4-17), Keith Embleton (2-0) and Noa Grant (2-20) caused the bulk of the damage with the ball.

Although Osian Roberts (1-12) picked up an early wicket, Mold reached a winning 47 for one inside 16 overs.

Luca Davies struck 30 not out.
