A BRILLIANT opening partnership set Denbigh 2nds on their way to a weekend triumph.
Taking on Mynydd Isa and Maeshafn in their latest encounter, it was the Denbigh side who gained a 71-run success.
Denbigh were on top from the off, with openers Jon Eccles (92) and Daniel Nixon (72) in terrific form at the top of the order.
Further good efforts from John Lloyd-Williams (32 not out) and Stuart Griffiths (34 off 12 balls) saw the Denbigh tally through to 250 for four in 40 overs.
Prasad Jadhav (2-46) was the pick of the Mynydd Isa and Maeshafn attack.
The visitors produced a good effort in their response to reach 179-7 when their overs ran out.
Sanath Shetty (48 not out) and Jonathan Fagan (33 not out) were the chief scorers.
James Thomas (3-30) and Stuart Griffiths (2-34) were excellent with the ball for the hosts.
