THERE'S been another fine mess for athletes to get involved with!
On a very hot Saturday, Denbigh Harriers Melina Morris, Sioned Griffiths and Tony Wood took part as a team - called Another Fine Mess - and Dafydd Evans bravely chose the solo option of Out-fit’s 24-hour South race.
This was a race with the aim of getting as far along the Offa's Dyke National Trail from the start point on Prestatyn seafront in 24 hours.
It started at 12pm on Saturday and finished 12pm on Sunday.
All participants wore trackers, which allowed eager ‘dot-watchers’ to follow everyone's progress.
The route is a mixture of trails, roads and plenty of hills, and required navigation which tested all runners’ abilities, especially during the night time!
Another Fine Mess finished just south of Gladestry, Powys, completing approximately 121 miles between them in total, whilst Dafydd Evans completed an outstanding 91 miles in total finishing south of Churchtown, Shropshire.
Eleanor Ashcroft and Mike Hobday kept to the ‘shorter’ half marathon distances on Sunday.
Eleanor ran the ESSAR Chester Half Marathon in a brilliant 1-37.22, finishing 416th overall.
Meanwhile, Mike ran the hilly Snowdonia Half Marathon, which starts and finishes in Llanrwst, with the race route going up towards and around Llyn Geirionydd and Crafnant.
He was 130th in a great time of 2-01.17.
