TWO members of Denbigh Harriers have competed in the latest leg of a popular series.

They ran 4.1 miles / 6.6 km in the eighth race of the Tuesday evening fell race Series, climbing 1,240 feet to the summit of the Great Orme, Llandudno... twice! Conditions were slippery under foot after torrential rain minutes before the race. Mike Hobday finished as the third male over-60 in 66th position out of 106 runners in a time of 45 minutes and 47 seconds.

Meanwhile, clubmate Menai Baugh finished as the second over-60 female and in 88th position overall with her time of 50 minutes and 57 seconds.

Menai Baugh also ran Râs y Gader on Saturday.

She competed in the 11.3-mile / 16.9km event along with fellow Harrier Huw Williams.

This iconic race climbs 3,000 feet up to the summit of Cadair Idris in Dolgellau and is well supported by the locals, who line the town's streets to cheer in the finishers.

Huw, summiting Cadair Idris for the very first time and with very little training, finished in 116th position out of 210 runners in a time of two hours, 17 minutes and 12 seconds.

Menai, who finished in 183rd position, was the first over-60 female in a time of two hours, 37 minutes and 58 seconds.

Iwan Evans was the only Denbigh Harrier at the Always Aim High Anglesey Trail 10k on Sunday.

The route is a mixture of single track trails, quiet forests and sandy trails with sea views.

Iwan had an excellent run - and a top-10 finish - crossing the finishing line seventh overall in 44.03.
