EVEN at this early stage of the North Wales Cricket League season, it's going to take something spectacular to derby Bethesda the Division Two title.

The Gwynedd side made it nine wins from nine matches so far this season courtesy of a 123-run home victory versus Ruthin at the weekend.

It was Ruthin who won the toss and they opted to spend the early portion of the afternoon in the field.

Bethesda were in a strong position at the halfway stage as Richie Parry (99 not out), Jonathan Williams (37) and Richard Green (32) helped them to 237 for five in their 40 overs.

Among the wickets for Ruthin were Oliver Jones (2-34), Gareth Beach (1-45) and Dafydd Roberts (1-50).

In response, Ruthin were all out for 114 in the 30th over.

Leading the way with the bat were Josh Duckworth (33), Ieuan Wynne Jones (20), skipper Jamie Hughes (14) and Ifan Hanifa (13).

Dylan Hughes (4-32) and Ashley Rowlands (3-17) proved to be Bethesda's most impressive bowlers.
