BOWLERS were once again to the fore as Corwen kept their North Wales Cricket League Division Four promotion aims on track.

Looking to make the step-up from Division Four this season, Corwen strengthened their position in second place via a six-wicket success at previously unbeaten leaders Llandudno Seconds.

Batting first after losing the toss, Llandudno's batsmen struggled to get going.

Skipper Matthew Lambe (17) was the only one to reach double figures as Llandudno were all out for 52 in the 30th over.

Doing the damage with the ball were William Pooler (4-16), Nathan Aldridge (3-5) and Richard Hughes (3-7).

It wasn't a straight-forward chase, but Corwen were eventually able to get to a winning 56 for four in the 19th over.

Tom King (22) and Aldridge (20 not out) were the leading scorers, as Luke Regan (3-28) did well for the home side.

A title could now be in Corwen's sights as they are 14 points behind Llandudno with a game in hand.
