FRIDAY night lights will welcome Gresford Athletic into the new competitive campaign.

In the first round of the Welsh League Cup, Cymru North Gresford will head to Ardal North West League outfit Denbigh Town.

This tie will be played at Central Park on Friday, July 22, kicking off at 7.30pm.

It will be something of a reunion for Gresford boss Eddie Maurice-Jones, who used to be the manager at Denbigh prior to departing to take charge at Denbighshire rivals Rhyl.

Also in the first round of the Welsh League Cup, Phil Hudson's Ruthin Town play host to Porthmadog.

Meanwhile, Nathan Brown has made the move from Airbus UK Broughton to Denbigh Town.

In a Tweet, Airbus UK Broughton said: "All the best @Naybrown23.

"Nathan leaves the Wingmakers for @DenbighTownFC.

"Thank you for everything with our promotion last season."

Brown tweeted: "Can’t wait to get going!

"Gonna be some league this season!

"Was never easy to leave @airbusukfc due to other commitments but wish them all the best."

Manager Dewi Llion told the Denbigh Town Twitter page: "Nathan is another great signing for us.

"I felt at times we lacked an out and out winger last season and Nay will be a perfect fit for our system.

"He'll bring pace and quality to the team, as well as a frightening delivery from set pieces."
