IT was a busy weekend in Snowdonia for two Denbigh Harriers - with one climbing Snowdon an amazing six times!

Eleanor Ashcroft took on a mammoth race - Always Aim High’s Snowdon 24.

In this race, participants had to summit Snowdon via the Llanberis path as many time as possible in 24 hours, starting at 12pm on Saturday and finishing at noon on Sunday.

This could be completed as a solo effort, a pair relay or as part of a team relay.

Eleanor ascended and descended an incredible six times, completing over 130,000 daily steps, 58.2 miles and 18,640 feet of ascent!

Eleanor hung up the keys at 6.50am after running for 17 hours and 49 minutes and covering her longest distance ever, finishing an outstanding 12th on the leaderboard out of 164 solo participants.

Sioned Griffiths also ran in Llanberis on Sunday in another of Always Aim High’s events, the Snowdonia Trail Ultra Marathon.

It was an early but warm start, with temperatures rising throughout the day during this 36-mile route with over 7,000 feet of ascent which saw runners pass through Rhyd Ddu, Beddgelert and Nant Gwynant before ascending Yr Wyddfa for a downhill finish to Llanberis.

Running her first ultra race, Sioned finished 71st out of 181 runners, and was pleased with a top-10 finish as the ninth overall female.

Her time was eight hours and 39 minutes.
