A CRAFTY captain changed the order of the holes for a special event.

Denbigh Golf Club captain Alan Shone had a wonderful day last Saturday when 143 players took part on captain’s day.

The few light showers in the morning did little to disrupt the day which was followed by a warm afternoon with a light breeze.

Play started at 7.30am and continued until mid-afternoon, all being entertained with refreshments at the midway hut.

Alan arranged the course as was done some years back for the winter league, playing the first, 18th, 17th and then on to the second, thus challenging all to make a good start.

Thanks go to the greenstaff and volunteers for a course which was worthy of the occasion and the captain’s appreciation goes to all the helpers on the day.

A worthy collection of £570 was collected for the captain’s charity.
