THE Brit look like firm favourites to grab the summer league spoils as the Denbigh and District Darts League campaign rolls into its final weeks.

In their latest A-league encounters they whacked in another nine points with an 8-1 steamrolling of Railway A.

Two of their star men have been in sparkling form in recent weeks with Nick Hailes contributing a 129 finish and a maximum, and county ace Dave Davies hitting 15 and 17-dart legs.

Wings A are currently top, however, after recent wins over Golden Lion B (6-3) and Golden Lion A (7-2).

They toppled Masons A in their most current match in a nail-biting 5-4 victory.

Sixteen-year-old Michael Roberts held his nerve to take the final match of the evening and supplied a 180 as he defeated the experienced Glyn Lloyd.

Gary Williams hit a maximum for the Masons and Wings dartist Dale Jones fired in a fine 16-dart leg.

The Wings players have been in fine form over the recent weeks with John Hughes and Lee Roberts hitting 180s, Danny Tinney grabbing a 108 outshot and Paul Davies taking out 17 and 18-dart legs.

Wings A currently hold a one-point lead over the Brit with the top-two clashing in the next encounter.

However, the Brit outfit have a game in hand versus relegated Railway B to finish their campaign.

Wings B look like they have claimed the B-League title after some recent positive results.

They have shown great form recently defeating White Lion B (6-1), Salusbury Arms (4-3) and an all important 4-3 home victory over White Lion A to sit nine points ahead.
