CLWYD West AM Darren Millar has been given a new shadow cabinet role in this week’s reshuffle of the Welsh Conservative Assembly group.
The new leader of the Welsh Conservatives, Paul Davies AM, announced the changes on Tuesday, calling them “the first move in positioning the Welsh Conservatives as the next government of Wales”.
Mr Millar has been appointed shadow cabinet secretary for external affairs and international relations, he will also be the party’s chief whip and policy director.
Mr Millar was previously shadow secretary for education and children, and in the past has served as shadow sinister for health and older people, shadow minister for the economy and transport, shadow minister for environment and planning and as shadow minister for communities and local government.
He said: “I am very pleased to be taking on this new role and thank Paul for giving me this opportunity.”
