A FOOTBALL fan who works in Corwen said it was "a dream come true" to be guest of honour at the launch event for Wrexham AFC's new kit.

Russell Williams works for Ifor Williams Trailers, who are shirt sponsors for his beloved Reds.

The engineering draughtsman was the envy of his fellow fans after being invited to attend the launch of Wrexham's new purple third kit.

Russell, 54, has supported the Reds since the early 1970s.

He said: “As a lifelong supporter, being asked to help unveil the new purple kit is a dream come true.

“There are a lot Wrexham supporters who work for the company and who come to the matches.

"There’s always a lot of banter on a Monday morning.

"I always look forward to going into work a bit more if Wrexham have won.”

Richard Hughes, human resources manager for Ifor Williams Trailers, is also a Reds fan.

He said: “We have a lot of die-hard Wrexham AFC fans working at Ifor Williams Trailers, including season ticket holders and Wrexham Supporters' Trust members.

“The club has a brilliant track record for youth sport with the boys and girls teams, and also for disabled football, which is another reason we are proud to partner the club again this year."
