A 34-year-old Denbighshire man has been banned from the road for a year for driving with a proportion of cannabis in his blood which exceeded the prescribed limit.
Lewis Kearns of Groesfaen, Carrog, Corwen, pleaded guilty and was ordered to pay £470 in a fine and costs.
Diane Williams, prosecuting at Llandudno, said he was stopped by police on the Lower Denbigh Road at St Asaph on November 29 when his Volvo had been spotted without lights.
Solicitor Dafydd Roberts, defending, said Kearns was a family man who had been visiting a friend at St Asaph. A ban would have a big impact on Kearns, who worked as a plant operator.
Court chairman David Subbachi said the magistrates took into account the effect the disqualification would have on his finances.
