POLICE have warned home and car owners about burglaries during stormy weather after a number of incidents in Denbighshire and Conwy on Wednesday night.
Car thefts and break-ins happened in Llandegla, Rhyl and Llandudno overnight on Wednesday, March 13.
North Wales Police said residents could have been distracted by Storm Gareth as burglars are known to use wind and rain as cover for loud noises made during break-ins.
A police spokesperson said: "There have been some reports of stolen cars and break ins over night in Denbighshire and Conwy.
"Remember that strange noise might not have been Storm Gareth - it could have been a criminal.
"Noises from the wind and rain can be used as cover for burglars."
Anyone with information related to the incidents should call police on 101.
