ANOTHER established Denbighshire-based firm was also honoured at the FSB Celebrating Small Business Awards ceremony.

Animated Tech, based at the OpTIC Centre in St. Asaph, was named Wales' 'Micro Business of the Year' for 2019 in Cardiff on March 22.

The company, who will be joining Ruth Lee Ltd. at the national finals in May, is a technology marketing agency specialising in explainer videos, animated marketing videos, product launch videos, technical animations, and animated corporate videos.

They say they use "powerful animations and video production to make engineering, technology, or scientific products stand out from the crowd".

Speaking on her pride at being awarded at the FSB ceremony, director Anna Burke, who attended the event, said: "It's amazing that we've won this award ahead of some excellent competition.

"I'm very happy that we have been recognised for the quality of our work that we do. We're very much looking forward to going to London in May and we will have our fingers crossed for another win, this time at national level."

Animated Technologies has made huge strides since it was first established in 2012 and has expanded even further as a business after setting up camp at the OpTIC Centre in St Asaph in early 2018.

Anna and her husband Tom co-own the company and have more than a decade’s experience of 3D animation, graphic design and marketing between them. They started the company from an office at their home in Old Colwyn.

Seven of the 11 awards handed out by FSB during the ceremony night were awarded to small businesses based throughout North Wales.

Other successful firms on the night included Anglesey Sea Zoo (Ethical-Green Business of the Year), Henllan Bread (Family Business of the Year) and Simon Evans of Wrexham-based Monopoly Buy Sell Rent, who won the 'Young Entrepreneur of the Year' prize.
