A FIRST class service is in store in the Vale of Clwyd this weekend.

With the tennis season just around the corner, Ruthin Tennis Club is holding an open day this Saturday, April 6.

Making use of the club’s six courts, activities for all ages and abilities will be run throughout the day, which is open to anyone who would like to take part.

The free morning sessions, from 9.45pm to 12.30pm, will be for mini players (aged 3-10), junior players (10-16) and families who would like to play together.

The afternoon session will be a fun social ‘mix-in’ doubles event for adults and older juniors.

Starting at 1.30pm, entry for the afternoon session is £3.

Throughout the day, there will be refreshments on offer and a friendly welcome.

If you would like to book one or more places on the sessions, visit the club’s website by searching ‘Ruthin LTC events’ or going to clubspark.lta.org.uk/RuthinLTC/Events/Event/dd530f8f-e83a-43f2-81bb-6fefb1c53ff6

Failing that, people can just pop along to the club on the day.

Ruthin Tennis Club welcomes players of every age and standard, and as part of the open day, it is also offering 10 per cent off adult memberships to those who decide that they would like to join on the day.

In addition to the event, Redstone Services is kindly supporting the club’s junior and mini tennis programmes by sponsoring six weeks of free coaching for every mini and junior player who joins the club.

This offer is also open to those who are unable to attend the open day.

Former head coach Jonny Swede, who has recently taken over as the club captain, is organising an exciting calendar of social events for the coming season.
