Clwb Rygbi Dinbych

ON Saturday, April 13, Clwb Rygbi Dinbych president Tegid Phillips is organising the fourth in a series of president’s days.

The previous three events took the form of past players reunions and they turned out to be outstanding successes with over 300 in attendance.

The first reunion, which was for players from the 1999-2099 era, was in December 2016, with the second reunion, this time for 1977-89 players, being held in April 2017.

The 1989-99 players had their function in January 2017.

Tegid’s three year stint as president of Clwb Rygbi Dinbych draws to a close at the end of the current season.

He has decided to make this last reunion a special one with all, or as many as possible of the past players over the 42-year history of the club, being invited to the function.

Amongst those who have registered to attend are three of the players who actually played in the club’s first ever game back in 1977.

They are David Ansell Jones, John Davies and Steven Evans.

Both David and John went on to captain the club, while Steve gained representative honours when selected to play for North Wales versus the Australian Schoolboys.
