THERE might be no European trip for the Lakesiders this summer, but there is plenty to do as we plan for the 2019/20 season.

Pre-season begins on Saturday as the first team squad returns after a six-week break with the majority of last season's squad putting pen to paper - and hopefully some new faces on the way, too!

We start our pre-season games at Llanrhaeadr ym Mochnant.

We have been given the honour of being the club chosen to open the new stands at Llanrhaeadr, who are managed by former Lakesider Marc Griffiths.

After that, we have five successive home games, as we host some impressive opponents in the form of Southport, Accrington Stanley, Crewe Alexandra, Fleetwood Town and Rushall Olympic. Head to the website to find more info about these games.

Our Welsh Premier League fixtures were announced on Tuesday and we will be starting the season against ???????? on ???????, which we are really looking forward to.

Details regarding season tickets and admission for the upcoming season will be announced very soon and with many Friday night games taking place, make sure you come down to support the lads when you can!

We have exciting times ahead as we have re-formed our reserves team to compete in the Reserves / Colts Division of the Wrexham Area League.

Our first training session took place last week, with 25 players in attendance!

If you want to join our new reserves squad, please contact Adam Galdo via 07854 682398.

There is quite a change in the Academy set up across the WPL teams, with a significant sum of funding going towards each club and a new full-time position as head of coaching created to run various areas of the club, such as the community aspects, developing coaches and creating sporting hubs in the local area. Bala Town have appointed Welsh speaker Carwyn Edwards, from Porthmadog, who is a holder of the UEFA A licence.

Carwyn is busy organising new coaches, registering players and planning for the new season, and he can be contacted via carwyn.edwards@balatownfc.co.uk

During the summer, we have various activities going on for all ages.

On Mondays, we have a Kickabout Club, from 6-7pm, for 9-15 year olds to turn up and play football with their friends.

Girls' only sessions for U-7s to U-16s take place on Mondays from 6-7pm.

On Tuesdays, we have a brand new fitball ladies' session from 7.15 until 8pm for women who want to get fit with a football. Then, on Thursdays, we now have O-35s football from 6-7pm, which has become a roaring success!

With the schools coming to a close as the term time ends, we will have activities organised for the children with summer holiday camps over the summer.

Don’t forget that we can host children’s birthday parties on the 3G, so please get in touch with Andy Kelly via community@balatownfc.co.uk for further details.
