"I am also looking forward to continuing to work alongside our team of enthusiastic officers and staff, ensuring that the movement continues to go from strength to strength.”

Ceredigion also had reason to celebrate, coming home with two trophies, which were the Beynon Thomas trophy for the highest points scored by junior members, and the Western Mail trophy for scoring the highest number of points in all Wales YFC competitions throughout the year.

Caryl Haf said: "It was great seeing the results of the Beynon Thomas Trophy for the younger members, and the Western Mail Trophy for the winning county.

"It’s another pinnacle for me as the county chairman and it’s evident of the success Ceredigion have had over the last 12 months.

"It’s also great to see the high standard of competition throughout each county in Wales in every competition throughout the year.

"I am very thankful for all members of Ceredigion, as well as their trainers, who have tried their very best over the year to ensure that we won these trophies."

Following the AGM, members in the steering group meetings, along with council members, discussed their programmes of work for the forthcoming year.

New sub-committee chairmen and vice-chairmen were also elected to take charge of Wales YFC’s committees for the next 12 months.

Members celebrated the successful weekend with a ball hosted by the chairman on the Saturday night, which was themed ‘A Night at the Oscars’.

This was the second year the ball has been held.

Wales YFC will now look forward to another successful year.
