THE Wingmen chalked up a significant victory in week two of the Denbigh and District Winter Darts League as they toppled the reigning champions.

Having been pipped to the title by their league rivals last winter, the Wingmen served a 5-3 victory over Masons A, with unsung hero Kelvin Williams sinking the winning double to give his side an early boost in the league proceedings.

The standard on the evening was top quality from both sides, with the Wingmen's Jamie Dowell hitting an 18-darter with a 180 and Dil Martin a 15-darter.

Arguably the form player in Denbigh at present is Dave Davies and he stepped up to supply a 14-dart league and a maximum for the Masons.

Golden Lion A remain unbeaten after a 5-3 result at Masons B, thanks to a 19-dart leg from Mark Langan and a nice 177 by Alun Roberts.

In further action, Railway A defeated Wings C 6-2.

Turning to the B-League and the Kinmel Arms managed to chalk up a first victory of the campaign with a 6-2 result versus the Cons Club.

The Golden Lion derby finished all-square as the B and C teams played out a 4-4 draw.

Elsewhere, White Lion A came out on top 5-3 in their derby encounter with White Lion B.
