A VALE of Clwyd swimmer has been showing off his talents in the pool across the border.

Denbigh Dragon Gruff Crowther recently travelled to Manchester for the National Para swimming championships.

This event brought together para swimmers from across Britain who had achieved national qualifying times.

Gruff achieved 11th place in the 10-13 year old boy category for both the 50m and 100m freestyle.

He was the top visually impaired swimmer and he was then second in the 50m and 100m freestyle respectively.

He was swimming against the very best para swimmers in Britain.

Some events showcased the talents of Paralympian champions, including Alice Tai, Maisie Summers-Newton, Reece Dunn and Ellie Simmonds.

As a result of his fantastic efforts, Gruff has been invited to Swansea for phase two of the Welsh Para talent assessment at the national para performance centre and he is keen to continue his journey to the upper echelons of Welsh para swimming.

Denbigh Dragons are very proud to count him amongst their numbers.
