A CHARITY networking organisation has launched a series of grant schemes for voluntary and community groups in Denbighshire.

The Denbighshire Voluntary Services Council (DVSC) revealed a £23,000 funding pot at its Winter Funding Fair in Ruthin on December 12. The schemes include its Dementia Aware programme, Welsh Church Act funding for wellbeing initiatives, community grants for Learning Disabilities and the Youth Grants initiative.

Helen Wilkinson, chief executive of DVSC, said: “We have set criteria around place-based activities which can raise awareness about dementia. Projects battling loneliness and isolation or promoting wellbeing can also be funded through the grants.”

Mrs Wilkinson said the Learning Disabilities grant scheme aims to “integrate people with learning disabilities into mainstream activities” with employers among eligible applicants for the funding.

The Youth Grants scheme, meanwhile, has a criteria of early years, better mental health, housing, skills and employability, social care or decarbonisation.
