A much smaller entry of hoggets on offer sold to another strong, competitive trade throughout for all weights and grades.

Yet again, the best quality, well shaped hoggs sold to a fantastic trade selling up to 246ppkg and £113 per head with plenty of other hoggs selling to above £100.

The most demand was for the well meated 39-45 kilo export weight hoggs with the heavy weight hoggs also finding a strong competitive trade throughout. Fewer lighter weight hoggs were on offer during the day which resulted in a good price throughout, with again quite a few of these going back out as store lambs.

Hopefully, trade will remain strong as numbers dry up throughout the country and with the hogg feeding vendors not ready to sell yet, demand should remain to be greater than supply.
