A QUAD bike has been stolen from a village near Denbigh.
North Wales Police is investigating the incident involving a red Kawasaki KVF 700, which was taken from the Prion area between January 5 and 8.
Thefts of quad bikes are rising across Wales with the scourge among the main issues faced by the force’s Rural Crime Team.
In November last year, seven quad bikes were stolen within two weeks from farms near Ruthin, St Asaph and Llangollen.
Rob Taylor, who leads the Rural Crime Team, said: “Criminals will usually visit the area before the thefts by making an excuse to be on a farm, such as asking for directions.
"We remind owners to up their security measures and to report registration numbers of cold callers’ vehicles to their farms every time to the police on 101.”
Anyone with information on quad bike thefts should contact police and quote the reference Y003409.
