ALL age groups are now catered for under one umbrella at a Denbighshire club.

Ruthin Town Juniors have now joined Ruthin Town Youth to come under the umbrella of Ruthin Town FC.

The juniors will still be a self contained section within the club, with their own officials and committee, but they have adopted the familiar crest, colours and ethos of the senior club.

Senior chairman Alan Jones said: “The juniors are the future of the club and I’m impressed with the organisation and the quality of the coaches.

"The juniors are a great addition to our football club.

"This has been part of a long term project to combine all age groups from U-7s right the way through to veterans' football.”

The club now runs nine junior teams and seven youth teams.

They have three senior teams and a veterans' team and so have some of the oldest players, as well as some of the youngest.

In terms of players, they are one of the biggest clubs in Wales with over 250 registered players.

The entire club is run by volunteers and is completely self financing, relying on the generosity of all their local sponsors.

They receive no public funds whatsoever and rely on raising new finance every year.

Ruthin Town vice-chairman Andy Edwards said: “I would like to thank all our sponsors for their generosity. It is much appreciated by everyone at the club, without them we simply wouldn’t be able to function.”

The club has also set up a girls / women's section and the women train every week with a view to entering a league next season.

Coaches Lucy Purvis and Carla Rizzi are hard at work and are now recruiting players.

Added to this are the mini stars.

They are the stars of the future and the club is already fully subscribed.

Every Sunday between March and September there will be a football session for children in year one and reception.

A total of 13 qualified coaches will help prepare 60 boys and girls for junior football.

IT Williams is sponsoring the section and a big thank you from the club goes to Catrin and Ffion.

If anyone is interested in sponsoring Ruthin Town FC, there are a range of packages on offer.
