A POPULAR figure has returned to Ruthin Town Football Club.

Ethan Jones has accepted the role of development squad manager with Ruthin Town, as well as becoming the club’s coaching development officer, which will link the club’s youth coaches to the senior club.

Ethan is an experienced coach with a UEFA B licence and is returning to the club after a brief spell at Caerwys FC.

Ruthin Town chairman Alan Jones said: “I’m delighted that Ethan has decided to return to us.

"He is one of the best young coaches in the area with a lot of experience.

"He will be the key to developing our young players.

"He has an important role to play both in terms of the coaching development role and also as the manager of the development squad.

"It’s a difficult job, but one he has done with great success in the past.”

Ethan said: “I admit that I thought long and hard about returning, but Ruthin is my home town club and I’m pleased to be coming back.

"My focus will be helping the under 16s to adapt as they come up to senior football.

"I expect to have a very young squad with a few senior players to help bring them on.

"We will also be entering the FAW and NEWFA youth cups next season, which is a bonus.”
