THE assembly member for Clwyd West has praised key workers as “heroes” facing “unprecedented times” amid the coronavirus outbreak.

AM Darren Millar thanked all those working within the health service, and all other workers providing key services amid the coronavirus crisis.

He said that they are facing “challenging times” and will have to continue to do so in the months ahead.

“These are unprecedented and disconcerting times,” Mr Millar said. “It’s vital that we pull together as a nation and get behind all those on the frontline as we face the challenges ahead.

“The coming weeks and months will be difficult, but we have an army of heroes in our hospitals and troopers working in social care and other key roles who I am confident will rise to the challenge.

“I pay tribute to them and all those doing the essential work needed to keep people safe, protect the vulnerable and safe lives; they deserve our thanks and utmost respect for their efforts”.
