STAFF from a school in St Asaph have done their bit to lift the spirits of the region during the Covid-19/coronavirus outbreak.

Several groups across Wales have been singing their way through isolation and posting their efforts on the Côr-ona social media pages.

The latest to join in are the teachers and other staff members at Ysgol Glan Clwyd who came together to create their own rendition of Welsh singer Rhys Gwynfor's song - ‘Bydd Wych’ (Be Great).

Staff members from several different departments feature in the video and, whilst some simply smile and wave, others sang their hearts out.

Talking about the cover song, a spokesperson for the school said: "This re-iterates our message from the staff at Ysgol Glan Clwyd. Be responsible, Be careful and be great.

"Thanks to Rhys Gwynfor for his help with this."

Feedback from parents and followers of the school on social media has been very positive, with 'brilliant', 'lovely' and 'excellent' being just some of the words used to describe the teaching staff's singing efforts .

Aled Wyn Evans wrote (in Welsh): "The YGC Family - a great family - and here we are as one big musical family here.

"We will face this head on and we will get through it!"
