RHUG ESTATE'S newest recruit joined the team just days before Covid19 meant the country went into lockdown.
Talk about 'hitting the ground running' when you start a new job, Cheryl South took up the role of retail and online assistant at the Estate based near Corwen during a very busy time in March.
During that month, sales of Rhug organic meat went through the roof.
Cheryl, originally from Betws y Coed and now living in Penmachno, previously worked in the retail and customer service sector, which took her around the UK and as far abroad as Dubai.
Cheryl said, “I’m delighted to be working with Lord Newborough and the team at Rhug. Rhug Estate is such a diverse business and yet at its core is organic farming. I’m pleased to be working with a fabulous team of people in the most amazing surroundings.”
Lord Newborough, Owner of Rhug Estate said, “I am delighted to welcome Cheryl to the team at Rhug. Cheryl has certainly hit the ground running! Her previous experience means she is a huge asset to our team. Within weeks of her starting, the business has been turned on its head and is now almost wholly reliant on online and wholesale sales of our organic meat. The sales team have gone above and beyond the call of duty since the lockdown working hard to fulfil our customers’ orders.”
