A BODELWYDDAN business is helping keep Denbighshire families fed.

A NEW call and collect 'Food Shop' service at Brakes, on Royal Welch Avenue, has made available more than 6,000 food products to ease pressure on supermarkets.

The service - one of only two in Wales alongside Wrexham - is operated by the UK wide food retailer, which is is stepping up its response to support the government’s efforts to maintain food supplies to the population.

Adam Collett, Brakes' UK marketing director, said:“By launching this service we will be able to take some of the pressure off local supermarkets and, by offering consumers the option to buy bigger packs, and in bulk, reduce the number of shopping trips that they need to make, which in turn supports government advice on minimising social contact. “

The call and collect service offers essentials including bread, dairy, meat, frozen veg and fish as well as desserts, drinks and snacks.

Users can browse the range of products available online via brake.co.uk, make a note of the products they want, then place their order anytime between 9.00am and 4.00pm, Monday to Saturday. Orders can also be placed between 10.00am to 4pm on Sundays.

Payment is taken by card over the phone and then, once the order has been placed, users are given a unique order number and can collect their order next day, Monday to Friday with a collection slot allocated anytime between 9.00am and 3.00pm.
