A PRESTATYN salon owner specialising in making wigs for people with hair loss problems has won another award to add to her, and the business' ever-growing collection.

Over the years, Morgan's Hair, Beauty and Wigs has won countless accolades for its unique services.

Owner Rebecca Morgan-Brennan's latest honour is a Community Champion prize courtesy of the British Hair and Beauty Awards.

As well as this, she is now up for the national award in the same category and the business itself is up for the Salon of the Year award.

The British Hair and Beauty Awards ceremony for 2020 is expected to be held in October.

Earlier this year, Morgan's Hair, Beauty and Wig Specialist salon won big at the FSB (Federation of Small Business) Celebrating Small Business Awards; They were crowned the winner of the Wales Social Enterprise and Community Award of the Year.

But, even during lockdown, Rebecca hasn't let measures stop her from helping her clients. The hairdresser and NHS wig supplier set up a shop in her downstairs bedroom and has been carrying out wig consultations over video calls.

As of July, Rebecca and her team are now back at the salon with guidelines in place to keep customers and staff safe.

Talking about returning to work, Rebecca said: "We have had such lovely feedback this week from clients.

"Luckily, our salon is big enough to be able to introduce social distancing in and just to ensure safety even further, we have halved the amount of clients we currently have in the salon at one time.

"We have had a professional health and safety check carried out by a company and are checking people's temperatures and using track and trace too.

"Every item we use from masks to towels are disposable, and we are using our wig room, which has its own backwash, as a private room for anyone who might need that extra bit of safety or for someone who might be nervous about coming in given current circumstances.

"It can also be used for clients that have breathing difficulties who are unable to wear a mask for long periods of time. "

"We are open longer hours (9am-8pm) on certain days and are also allowing more time in-between appointments to clean our stations and equipment and we have moved all of our wig service to our Chester branch until August.

"I personally want to thank all of our clients who have been to the salon this week and adhered to our new normal."
