A WOMAN celebrated turning 106 with afternoon tea on the Llangollen Wharf – proving it is never too late to cross something off your bucket list.
Gwen Myerscough marked her birthday last week on September 4 with a trip along the popular North Wales attraction – which has been something she has wanted to do for a while.
She was finally able to complete the experience with her son, daughter-in-law and their family dog.
The trio celebrated with tea and cake whilst taking in some of the amazing views offered throughout their journey.
A spokesman for the team at the Llangollen Wharf said: “Could this be our oldest visitor to Llangollen Wharf? Gwen is 106 and a trip across the Aqueduct is on her bucket list, so off she went today on one of our day boats to fulfil one of her dreams with her family.
“We had a lovely message from Gwen’s family. They said she had a great day and spent most of it waving to passers-by on the canal, Gwen said she felt like The Queen.”
