DENBIGH Town Council has confirmed that this year's fireworks display has been cancelled due to restrictions brought on by the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
The decision comes following a full meeting of the council held on Wednesday, September 23.
A spokeswoman for the authority also confirmed that the Christmas lights will be switched on from November 27 through to the New Year.
However, she added that Denbigh Events Group will be unable to host the annual 'Christmas Lights Switch On' event.
The Denbigh Town Council spokeswoman said: "It is with regret that we must inform residents that this year’s Fireworks display has been cancelled due to the current Covid 19 restrictions.
The Christmas lights will be on from November 27 through to the New Year. New Christmas lights will be up on Vale Street as well as Trees on the roundabouts. Keep well and safe."
Over the years, Denbigh's fireworks display has been aimed at raising the town’s profile and attracting people to the area, as have other big events such as the Boxing Day barrel rolling and the Plum Festival.
