A RESIDENT was burgled when a suspect gained entry through an open downstairs window.

This was in St Hilary's Terrace in Denbigh.

NWP Community Safety Central tweeted on October 30: "Sadly I am off to St Hilary's Terrace to put up a burglary alert sign.

"A resident has been burgled, the suspect gained entry through an open downstairs window.

"The window is left open for the cats to come and go.

"The resident now has no wallet and phone."

North Wales Police offer advice to stop residents becoming victims of burglary.

Tips include: Closing and locking doors and windows when not at home; set an intruder alarm when out; closing and locking doors of rooms; not hiding spare keys under flowerpots or doormats; good lighting on the outside of your property and displaying warning signs that a house has anti-burglary measures in place.
