A DENBIGHSHIRE County Councillor is encouraging residents to 'make the most' of a new Covid-19 testing centre available in Ruthin.

Cllr Mark Young, who represents the Denbigh Lower ward and is the cabinet lead member for planning, public protection and safer communities on the county council, says he had his test done at the town's county hall car park recently.

No appointment is necessary for the walk-in and drive through testing centre set up to make it easier for people in the area to get a COVID-19 test closer to home.

The testing centre will be located at County Hall car park for three weeks, opening from 9.30am until 4.30pm.

Cllr Young added: “We’re working with our partners to provide easy-access testing in Denbighshire, and I would encourage anyone to take advantage of the facility at County Hall Ruthin.

“As well as offering convenience for local people, the extra testing will help the council and its partners identify cases more quickly, making it easier to contain the virus across Wales.”
