RESIDENTS are being urged to have their say on Denbighshire plans to tackle climate and ecological change that could change the way the local authority works.

Denbighshire County Council is carrying out a consultation process over its Climate and Ecological Change Strategy which will increase its efforts to reduce carbon emissions to net zero and improve biodiversity over the next 10 years.

A public engagement event was held earlier this year asking for the public’s views and now they can have their say on the draft.

It follows the statutory commitment made by the council last year to become net carbon zero by 2030.

Since 2017 the council has reduced its carbon emissions by using only renewable electricity at its schools, leisure centres and libraries, while it is also more than halfway towards a planting 18,000 trees by 2022.
