WITH the latest Coronavirus guidelines keeping us all indoors once again, many of us will be left wondering what to do this New Year's Eve.

But, one Llangollen-based company is set to liven up living rooms and kitchens across the region via a virtual end of year party.

On Thursday evening from 9pm, ORB Sound and Lighting will team up with popular local band 'Rhythm Train' to produce the entertaining live event - with the aim of raising spirits after what has been a very tough year for so many people.

The three-and-a-half hour long party will be free to watch via both the company and the band's Facebook pages, as well as ORB's website and Youtube page.

It will take place from an undisclosed location which ORB supports in Denbighshire.

Director of ORB Sound and Lighting, Rachel Bentley said: "The stream will include three live 45 minute sets from the band, interjected with some pre-recorded content such as adverts from local sponsors and performances from local community groups, and we will also encourage people to send in messages to friends and family using a hashtag which can be moderated and shown on the bottom of the stream.

"We aim to reach as many people as possible as we realise New Years Eve can be a hard and lonely time for many people, this year more so than before. Our aim is to bring people together virtually, lift spirits as we enter the new year, and to give back to the community.

"We have chosen a venue which we can safely adhere to strict COVID regulations and have special permission for the event to go ahead from the local authorities."

ORB Sound and Lighting are the Llangollen based company which provides staging, equipment and technicians for the outside stages of the International Musical Eisteddfod and Llangollen Fringe Festival each July.

Their technicians also installed all of the new upgraded equipment for the Ysgol Dinas Bran ‘Curtains Up’ appeal, and recently gave up their time and equipment weekly during lockdown to play a ‘Thank You’ message across the town during the ‘Clap For Carers’ who were supporting the community.

Although the event is free on New Year's Eve, ORB are still accepting donations to cover their production costs.
