A POPULAR wedding venue situated in Denbighshire has been given a ‘Best of Britain 2020’ award by a top wedding planning app.

Bridebook selected Pentre Mawr Country House, Llandyrnog, as one of its ‘outstanding wedding venues’.

The app’s ‘Best of Britain’ awards were handed out and announced virtually earlier this month and aimed to ‘celebrate fantastic Bridebook venues from across the country’.

It’s the latest in a long line of awards won by the five-star venue, situated in the foothills of the Clwydian Range. It has also been awarded a five-star review rate on TripAdvisor following many positive reviews from its guests.

As well as its traditional guest rooms, it also offers a separate and one-of-a-kind African safari lodge experience to its visitors.

The venue and its surrounding farmland have been in owner Graham Carrington-Sykes’ family for 400 years.

Since taking over at Pentre Mawr with wife Bre, the pair have carried out extensive refurbishment and the result of that is the classic country style guest house on show today.

Speaking on having won the award, a statement on Pentre Mawr's Facebook read: "We are so honoured and happy to have been awarded Best of Britain Award for being an outstanding wedding venue by Bridebook."
