STRONG winds and heavy rain are causing issues on roads across Wales on Tuesday morning.

After a wet and windy bank holiday, the weather does not seem to have improved as poor conditions continue.

Traffic Wales is urging motorists to be safe when travelling on the roads today.

A spokesman said: "Poor weather on the network this morning.

"When it's raining, standing water can build quickly and cause a serious hazard.

"Adjust your speed when conditions worsen to avoid aquaplaning.

"Allow more space from the car in front to stop in an emergency."

During the early hours of Tuesday morning, the B4500 was closed between Chirk and Pont Faen Bridge due to a fallen tree.

Speed restrictions are in place on the A55 Britannia Bridge due to strong winds and networks show the weather is affecting traffic for the Flintshire Bridge.

The Met Office predicts that it is going to remain wet and miserable for most of the day with highs of 7C.
