RESCUERS came to the aid of an injured walker in the Berwyn mountains yesterday (May 8).
North East Wales Search and Rescue (NEWSAR) were called out to a location near Cynwyd.
Posting about the rescue on its Facebook page, the team said: "We were called at lunchtime today to assist an injured walker in the Berwyn mountains near Cynwyd.
"The initial information indicated that the incident was very serious and the team responded on blue lights, whilst organising a possible helicopter evacuation with the Coastguard.
"However, as we were on the way the casualty recovered sufficiently to walk down to a waiting ambulance with the aid of a Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust First Responder and we stood down. Get well soon."
