A VAN driver stopped by police in St Asaph because of a defective light led to much wider discoveries.
North Wales Police's Roads Unit said the Ford Transit was being driven on the St Asaph Business Park on Monday morning.
Officers spotted the van's defective light shortly after 9.30am and pulled the driver over.
However it transpired the he was also a disqualified driver and wasn't insured, and he tested positive for cocaine at the roadside, police said.
He was arrested and taken to custody where he refused to provide a further sample.
Police said the 37-year-old, from the Betws-y-Coed area, has been charged with driving whilst disqualified, driving without insurance and failing to provide a specimen for analysis.
He'll appear before Llandudno Magistrates Court on June 2.
