CHILDREN at a school in Corwen have been learning about a range of topics - from bees to ancient Greece in recent weeks.

Ysgol Cae'r Drewyn kids have been making the most of the sunshine and learning about various topics at the same time.

Reception class, Dosbarth Celyn, have been learning about bees. Kids have learnt how important they are and how we must look after them, they made save the bee posters and egg carton bees.

Year 1&2, Dosbarth Helyg's main topic this term has been Ancient Greece. They have been drawing Greek Gods and Goddesses and learnt that the Olympics and marathons originated from Greece.

Year 3&4, Dosbarth Collen, have been learning about the Amazon Rainforest, making showbox models showing the 4 layers of the rainforest. They learnt about Ed Stafford - the first man to walk the length of the Amazon River and used their team building skills and Commando Jo equipment to recreate outside.

Finally, Year 5&6, Dosbarth Derwen, have been working around the 'To Infinity and Beyond' theme. Pupils got creative using recycled materials to create their own rockets. They also had two days Bikeability training with Denbighshire Leisure where they gained their Level 1 and 2 Bike Proficiency certificates. They have also worked on a local initiative project using Welsh wool to create felted sheep artwork to promote bringing sheep back to Caer Drewyn hillfort.
