A BRAND new dog grooming business opened in Denbighshire earlier this month - and proved popular from the off, being fully booked even on the first day.

‘Bark’, located at 55 High Street in Denbigh, is a business established by self-confessed animal lover Isabelle Maher which opened on June 1.

The 24-year-old from Trefnant says she decided to start up the business, which is the first she has ever taken charge of, as she has 'always been passionate about animals, especially dogs'.

She added that Covid-19 lockdowns gave her time to plan the business properly before opening up to the public.

Isabelle qualified as a professional dog groomer at Reaseheath - one of the UK’s leading specialist land-based colleges based in Nantwich, Cheshire.

Speaking on how Bark came about, she said: "During the lockdown, I made the decision to open my own grooming salon and took the time to plan the business, find premises and work on the design. – and Bark became a reality!

"I wanted to open a grooming salon that offered a service that I would want to take my own dog to. I’m really pleased with the finished, result it has all the professional requirements for a dog groomers but in a modern setting.

"Bark is situated ideally at the top of town in Denbigh, where clients can drop off their dog, do a bit of a shop and then collect when the groom is complete."

The business opened earlier this month and Isabelle says that it's proving to be a success to date and the new logo has been placed on the shop front.

She added: " I officially opened on June 1 and I was fully booked on day one which was great. I cater for all breeds and have a calm and kind approach to the dogs to make their experience a positive one.

"It’s been really lovely meeting new people and their dogs, other retailers in town and locals have been really welcoming, wishing me luck and complimenting me on how lovely the salon is."
