A COUPLE of 'light fingered individuals' spent a night in custody after stealing products from supermarkets across North Wales.
The products have since been donated to a foodbank.
NWP Denbighshire Coastal and Abergele posted on Facebook: "Having been on a Supermarket Sweep across the North Wales area yesterday, Denbighshire Coastal officers caught up with a couple of light fingered individuals outside a local store.
"Whilst we fully support the idea of ‘kicking the habit’ hopefully they’ll be a bit ‘clearer eyed’ this morning, after a relaxing night at Chateau de Custody with a Popty Ping dinner thrown in.
"After such a ‘close shave’, we couldn’t let the fresh food go to waste – donation to local foodbank made – after all."
The total of the goods was around £800.
NWP Denbighshire Coastal and Abergele added: "Getting charged in the morning – priceless."
