DARTS has returned to Denbigh in recent weeks - 16 months or so since the last competition was played.

Following the easing of Covid-19 restrictions across the country, darts competitions are now able to be held.

The Denbigh-based Masons mens Superleague side faced off against The Nant of Buckley recently.

This first Clwyd Superleague matchup of the delayed campaign saw ring rust from both sides as multiple doubles chance went amiss.

The Masons were given a walkover first point as The Nant could only muster seven players to travel but they were soon level with their Denbighshire opponents as The Masons Nick Hailes Fell to a 4-3 defeat.

Former Clwyd County Captain Steve Gierke nudged the Denbigh side in front with a fine 4-1 victory which included a 114 checkout, unfortunately this was as good as it got for the home outfit with losses for Pete Lewis, Dave Cooke, Bradley Roberts, Huw Watson and Derry Morris compounded by several missed chances on the double bed to have changed the end scoreline of 6-2 to the Nant from Buckley.
